Frog Prince bookends

Hello Everyone,

My favorite place to shop for room/house decor is at Pier 1 Imports. Yes, it is a bit pricy, but most of the items there are well made. The best way to shop at Pier 1 is to look at their clearance section. Hey, there is no shame in that. I was excited to find my frog prince book ends there. I use the bookends for my Kindle which I have next to my bed in case I can't sleep at night.

It makes me happy just looking at it..... because I am romantic at heart.

So, what is the point of this blog? Nothing, much..... I just like to share what makes me happy AND that you can find great things in the clearance section of Pier 1.

Hollywood Vanity Girl

Hello Everyone,

Since I love makeup and fashion, having my own vanity is something I have always wanted.  I didn't know exactly what I want in a vanity.... all I know is it needs to standout in my room. Seeing so many different ones, I was debating whether to stick with my Hayworth furniture theme (like my lingerie drawer or jewelry armoire that I have shown in my previous blog) or should I go with more Hollywood style.

Here is the Hayworth vanity that I was debating about: It's very nice and elegant.

What I end up purchasing is the Hollywood Vanity Girl. The lights and the outlets on the vanity makes it so much easier to get ready. I don't have to bend down and look for a plug or a place to set my hot flat iron. Also, it's fun to pretend I have my own little Hollywood star room that I can use to get ready.
Great to use for any makeup tutorials!!!

When you look closely at the table, it has holes to hold my hair dryer and flat iron.

I like to keep the table of my vanity clear of clutter with just a few items for decoration. I put the flower soap there to just add some color and I have my two closeup mirrors.

A big one and a small one. I thought the small one is so adorable, I just had to get it to match.

So, that is where I will be doing must of my makeup blogs.

Pier 1 Import: Should I say I am obsessed?

Hello Everyone,

I went to Pier One Import just to pick up one thing and one thing only, but I end up coming out with several items. Dont' you just hate that. I started to transition my room from Winter to Spring (I know it is still early), but I am loving this one scent that they have right now. As I was walking in, I saw a stand fill with green candles, room diffusers, fragrance beads, etc... and I just had to stop and sniff. It says Citrus Cilantro and I was curious on how it smelled. I love adding cilantro to my food but never heard of cilantro being a scent. One sniff and I feel in love with it. It's very refreshing and not too overpowering. I can see this being a kitchen or bathroom scent, but I just love it in my room.

I am not good at describing scents so I will just let you know what is in it: Blend of lemon, lime, cilantro, bergamot, grapefruit, mandarin orange, lively green basil, lime blossom, rose, jasmine, cyclamen, rosemary, coriander, fir, and musk, Yes, that is a lot of ingredients.

All of their scented items are 20% off plus I had an additional 10%. Alright!!!

I picked up Citrus Cilantro Potpourri ($14.40). It's really cute with dried orange slices and lime. It just makes your room smell so good.

The next thing I got is the Citrus Cilantro room spray ($5.60). I would spray my room before I get into bed and in the morning. The best time I love spraying my room is after I steamed my carpet because I feel the scent lingers for a longer period of time.

I also picked up Citrus Cilantro Fragrance Beads: $4 - They smell so good and look like fish eggs. That sounded kinda weird. It's also fun playing with them because you can shake them around and these oily balls just slides everywhere in the jar. Hahaha.... I don't think I am getting any better at describing this. Ok, I will shut up now.

Also, going along with the Citrus Cilantro theme, I picked up the scented tea light candles ($5.60 for a box of 30). They actually go very well with the item that I actually went in for in the first place.

I think this is enough to make my room smell like Citrus Cilantro... don't cha think?

Ok, now for the item I really went in for is the Metal Eiffel Tower Centerpiece- Paris is know as the City of Lights. This brings me back to my backpacking days in Europe.

ROSS: a place to find great decorating items for your room

Hello Everyone,

I picked up a few items from ROSS that I find are great deals. Adding some colors to a room can really change the ambiance and provide a cozier space. Recently, I have been finding myself in wanting to redecorate my room and hopefully, the house. It's important to find sale or bargain items because it can easily be an expensive hobby.


 In my room, I had plain white walls and they look very dull. Now, by adding some simple wall art stickers (aka decal stickers) it looks more lively. The wall art stickers are very cheap and can be found anywhere. The reason I like using it is because it is easy to put up and take down without ruining the paint.

Also, a painting can make a big difference. This painting of Audrey Hepburn is from ROSS and it cost $12.99.

At ROSS, I also bought two ottomans. They are made out of a soft, velvet texture with nice big sparkling jewels embedded. They are $9.99 each. I am very surprised on how well it is made for that price. My puppy loves sitting on these.

The pink and black ottoman with the jewels just make everything come together with my Hayworth jewelry armoire and dresser.

Room organization in style!

Hi Everyone,

Ever since I got a puppy, I can see myself wanting to keep my room organized and clean. Mostly because I don't like her getting into a lot of my stuff. I gotta say, I have been lucky with Mochi because she doesn't like to chew on wires, shoes, or clothes. She loves boxes and papers though. Again, Hautelook has been posting a lot of cheap home decors that look amazing. I have a large range of taste when it comes to home decorations.... but then I am also a hoarder.... so it makes sense.... I guess....  One thing I enjoy shopping for are antique looking displays that brings character/story to a room. That being said, let's see what I have hauled to store my hauls....

Here are two matching decorative faux leather suitcases that are large enough for any type of storage. What I may put in there are my scarfs and belts for the first one...... for the second suitcase I am thinking about all my curling/flat irons.

Sale: $45 + I have a $20 credit because they didnt have an item that I want so they gave me a full refund plus a $20 credit!!! Hautelook's service is great. Overall, I paid $25 total for both of these faux leather suitcases.

The next thing I got is a Fiona Mosaic Jewelry box. What captured my attention is the antiqueness of it. This is a very simple wooden box that has a rusty hinge and color to the wood which makes it look like it has been through a lot. The mosaic is also simply put together to make it seem like it is handmade.

Not many pieces of jewelries can fit into this box, but whatever.... the box is cute.

Lastly, these decorative boxes with tray reminds me of pieces from the Roman times...... what comes to my mine is the movie Gladiator. I guess it looks like it is made of iron steel that the Roman would wear when they go to war. Anyways, the rusty brown matches my throw pillow and it helps keep a lot of items that I have on my night stand hidden from view.

A lot of things tend to pile up in my room, but I am a person that likes to keep things organized in containers so it looks a bit more clean.

I find changing up my room once in a while is kind of fun I hope you all have a great night!

My new storage unit and a sneak peak to my favorite summer scents!

Hi Everyone,

I'mmmm baaccckk!! Just slowly trying to get into the gist of things.... and hopefully getting back to my rhythm.  A lot happened during the 2 weeks and one of them is organizing my room. I am a hoarder..... but I don't think I'm THAT bad..... I just need some storage to put my stuff in...... yeah... Diana, you just keep telling yourself that. Now, I am talking to myself.... wow! Ok, I will admit that I do like to keep a lot of things and mysteriously things also just keep accumulating... I am trying to get better though! Gosh, I feel like I am in one of those AA (Alcoholic Anonymous) group therapy.

Anyways, so I was able to re-organized my room and it looks so much cleaner. I went to Target (one of the BEST stores ever!) while they were having a sale on storage units. I bought myself 3 black bins made by ITSO and some accessories to go along with them. These bins were not cheap! Good Gosh! They were $8.99 per bin so I was only able to afford three bins. Then I have to decide what color I like to pair these bins with for the accessories to go into. Pink and berry were the only color that stood out to me.... I just feel that the other colors were kinda boring, but feel free to look at their site for other colors. These bins are easy to configure and it makes my room more organized.

Excuse my raggedly look...

 I was able to store a lot of my junk in there and three bins is more than enough.

For example, I have my cotton balls, nail polish remover, and whatnots in there....

Of course, then on top I just like to add some decorations.
I got the fake white carnation flowers from Pier One when they were having their holiday sale.... it was 75% off and I figured it helps make the room look clean plus I added my two favorite tropical body splash from Bath and Body Works. This has a very summer-y feel to it. If you have not yet smell these body splashes you are missing out. OOOOMMMMGGG!!! They smell sooooo good! Anytime you smell me, most likely it will be one of these two scents for summer.

This one is definitely my favorite. Passion fruit.... and......

 Mango.... what can go wrong?

Also, on the top I have my coconut cream from Sephora. That stuff really does the job of keeping your skin moisturized... it's pretty hardcore.... and it smells like fresh coconut from hawaii.... yum! Yes, this is all very tropical and I am feeling summer already!

 
I love stepping out of the shower.... putting the coconut cream on..... spraying some passion fruit and I am a happy girl!
