Sephora 500 Points reward- TOO FACED Eyeshadows

Hi Everyone,

I have been obsessing with Too Faced Eyeshadows in the last 4 months. I find myself grabbing these more often than all my other eyeshadows.

The one I am currently using ALL the time is the Natural Eyes palette.

It has all the colors needed to create an everyday look and then some. I love everything about it.. from the box to the colors and to the texture. I don't find these falling out too much and it's soooo easy to grab with my brushes.

I have used this box every day for a month straight and I haven't made too much of dent! This is very comparable to the NAKED Palette. I love this so much that after I am done using it, I will buy another one. Actually, I have a back up box.... when I like something so much I am always afraid it's going to get discontinue so I have to get two. My favorite colors from this palette are Silk Teddy (sounds kind of frisky), Nude Beach (Yikes), Push Up, Heaven, and Sexpresso. I actually love all the colors.

Highly pigmented and the colors in here are just to die for.

Also, included in these little cute boxes are instructions cards on how to apply the colors to your lid if you are a beginner. AMAZING!!
There is one for Fashion, Classic, and Day.

I believe there are 3-4 different boxes for this line... I have 2 out of the 4 boxes but it will be nice to collect them all. =)

Here is the other palette called Naked Eye. Again, great packaging.

Fabulous natural looking colors. I haven't used this palette yet, but the colors are something I can see myself wearing everyday also. My favorites from this palette are In the Buff, Birthday Suit, Pillow Talk, Satin Sheets, Like a Virgin, and Lap Dance. Don't you just love the names of these eyeshadows?

So, to the main item. The 500 points reward that Sephora is handing out this month...... drum rolllllll...... is the Too Faced Exclusive eye shadow collection. YAY!!!
When I saw this, I went cray cray and I had to get it.
I have so many points saved up and so this is FREE for me.

It has the 4 box themes that I was talking about.... I still need to collect the Smokey Eye and Romantic Eye. I like the fact that it also includes a small tube of the eye primer.

This box includes 2 colors each of their bestselling kits. AWESOME!!!
I also like the gold rims around the eye shadow palettes. Very well done Too Faced!

Here are the swatches (On my hand, top row- sorry the swatches here are a bit messy): Push up, Satin Sheet, and Ever After. I just want to show how pigmented these colors are.... even the light colors are very pigmented.

I am happy to save up points for this reward. I am always looking for rewards that will give me the most for my money. BINGO!!!

Reviews on nail polish and nail enhancements

As a nail polish fanatic, I am always in search of great colors for the season. About 5 months ago, I bought Essie's 2011 wedding collection mini cube from amazon.com for $11. It comes in a cute little box with 4 colors. Essie has always been one of my favorite and just recently they have been stepping up their game against other popular nail polish brands. I love the brush, the color stays on pretty well, and I love the shape of the bottle.

What I normally do is buy the minis to try out the colors and if I really love it, then I will buy the full size. For $11 it is worth it!!! Even though they are minis, there is a decent amount in each bottle for 5 usage (includes both fingers and toes).

In this collection, here are the colors:

I just love the theme name for each color.... so romantic!

This vibrant red color is called "First Dance"

Cute pastel pink called "Better Together"- reminds me of another Essie nail polish called "French Affair"

Nice light blue called "Borrowed and Blue"

Lastly, a light pink with more of a brown undertone called "Made to Honor"

These are all the colors that Essie is predicting as the color for weddings this year.

Here is how Made to Honor looks like on. It's so pretty!!!! Very neutral and feminine.

Now, I am going to transition into the nails that I am wearing in the picture above.

These are nail enhancements that I bought from Walgreens. As I have mentioned in my previous blog that I don't really go to a nail salon for mani/pedi because I am rough with my hands and it's just not worth it for me. So, the brand that I picked up was from KISS and they are known for all the natural looking nail enhancements at the drugstore.

The box here says long, but the one that I purchased is the short/medium. It comes in a plastic container with 100 pieces of nails in 5 different sizes.

The glue in this container is no joke. It is heavy ass duty!!!
One touch at the tip can glue both of your fingers together. It's that strong so be careful when you are using this.

PROS:
When you do find a nail that fits, it looks good.
You can paint over them any color you like and the color goes on smoothly

CONS:
It's plastic so it can look very fake if you don't do it well
It cracks easily.... I was upset on the third day of wearing them the tip on one of fingers chipped off and I had to remove the whole piece.
In order to take them off, you need to soak your fingers in acetone to soften the glue- it's not that great of a feeling and it ruins your nail

Anytime you have on acrylics or other type of nails that are glued on, you need to use acetone to remove the nails.

Since I was only able to wear it for THREE days, I went ahead and removed all my nails.

My nails turned a bit yellow and it looks like it still has glue on them. It's pretty much ruined.... I have to wait 3-4 days to give it a rest.

As you can see there is still some white there from the glue. I can remove them with more acetone, but I don't want to use anymore acetone on my nails... I am just going to give it some time to come off. I feel like there is a lot of damaged done to my nails from just wearing the nail enhancements for 3 days.... not worth it!!!!! ARRGGHHHH!

All-in-all I will not be purchasing this again. If you like nail enhancements go to a salon. These self to-do's are not worth ruining your nails for.

I can't wait to put on my nail polish again.

Essie also just came out with their Braziliant collection which I am excited to try.

Mochi got spayed

I am finally back. Yay!!! Blogging is so much fun, but I have to admit that taking a week off to do nothing at night is also great. Now, I have to get back into the rhythm. I love my iMAC!!! I played with it when I first got it and was also able to test out the camera.......... say cheese!

In the past few weeks I had to make a decision on whether to spay Mochi or not. It was kinda hard because I want to see little cute puppies (yeah, a bit selfish-- she had a stud waiting for her though!) and also the cost of the surgery. I did bring her to the vet that took care of Trevor who is my first dog and the vet gave me an estimate of $600 or more depending if she is in heat. I was thinking to myself..... oh hell no! I can't even afford $600 for myself to get a crown for my tooth ... Anyways, so that makes it even more difficult. The vet told me that I should decide soon because it is better to get her spayed before her first heat. The percentage of her getting breast cancer is lessen, where if I waited after her first heat the chances goes up and after her second heat it may not even matter, although it is still healthier. I decided if I want to get her spayed, I rather do it now.

I talked to different people and I got a lot of options. One of my friend suggested to go sign up for a pet insurance at PETCO and it include shots, spay/neuter, annual checkups, etc.. Another option was to take her to SPCA and get her spayed for a fraction of a cost. Even though SPCA promotes pet getting spayed/neutered I feel it was still pretty expensive for the price they charged but it is still less than what my vet was going to charge. At SPCA it cost $270 with 10% discount if you live within the city.

After looking at different areas, SPCA is my first choice. I like the cleanliness of the place and the friendliness the staff. I dropped my baby off early in the morning before work and picked her up at 545pm.
When I first saw her I feel so bad..... she has a blue funnel around her little neck.
The more I look at her the funnier she looks.... my boyfriend said she looks like a space alien. Normally, the funnel is clear and hard, but because she was so small they had to give her this to wear instead. At least it's not hard where she can bump into things or feel like she can't eat out of her bowl.

Overall, she is recovering well and I will be removing this funnel off her in two days. In the beginning, she had a hard time adjusting to this, but now she is running and jumping with it on like it's not even there.

Taking a week off due to computer problem

OOTD: Screaming Turquoise

Hi Everyone,

Wow, I am doing great this week with my blog... I know I have been slacking with just putting up two blogs a week but this week I have three so far. There is so much I want to put up and talk about.... it's just finding the time to do it. For instance, this morning I have to be somewhere for work at 8am, so I woke up at 630am to get dress and leave enough time to take some pictures to post up for an outfit of the day. As you can see I would try to take pictures early in the morning before I go to work or whenever I get a chance. Blogging does take up a lot of my time, but I really enjoy doing it. It's true that if you are passionate about something you will make time for it and this goes for anything in life.

Moving on...... today is such a gorgeous day that I had to wear a skirt. I found a great deal on the skirt I am wearing below at H&M on one of their $20 sales rack. WOOHOO!

This was a great find because the material of the skirt is so silky that it looks like it's from Nordstrom.  
To tone down the color of the skirt, I wanted a light solid color on top. The top is from Forever 21: $22.50

For the shoes, I talked about this in the previous blog of how comfortable Anne Taylor heels are. They are so comfortable that I had to grab the black and a second pair in tan/brown. I was able to purchase these heels when they were having a 40% discount. YAY!!!

I can run a mile in these heels with no problem at all! The only con is that on this pair, one of the heel tip came off.... and I will need to bring this to a shoe repair shop to have them replace the tip. I have only worn it twice too... but they are so comfortable and cute that I am willing to get the tip replaced. It didn't happen to the black ones so maybe it is just a defect.

To go along with the turquoise skirt, I didn't realize at that time my fingernails were painted the same color. The color I am wearing on my nails is from Essie called Turquoise & Caicos. So pretty!!! (looks green in this picture... but I swear it is turquoise)

OOTD: Color blocking or a Pop of Color?!!!

Hi Everyone,

Color blocking has become very popular in fashion these days and I love seeing how people just combine different bright colors together. I am a person who doesn't like to match too much in an outfit, however, I am also not a person who can pull off a combination of bright colors. I guess I am not daring enough to wear hot pink with bright green.... but I do envy those people who can.  Most of the time I like to wear neutral colors, but I like to enhance the look by throwing in a pop of color to an outfit. Just by adding a simple bright color accessory can bring an outfit to a whole new level.

Here is my outfit of the day look for work. Dressing for work may not be fun, but what I look forward to is what can I add to make it fun for me.

I am wearing a gray dress pants with a casual blue stripped button up shirt. The pop of color is the yellow belt that I have on which makes this look that much more appealing and fashion forward. Yes, I can just pair it with a black belt, but what fun will that be?

Another essential to finish the outfit is the shoes.... I love wearing heels that are at least 3" high because I am not that tall. Finding the right pair of heels for work can be very difficult.... and just recently I found the PERFECT pair of heels. I swear these shoes are the most comfortable shoes I have ever put on my feet. They are 3 1/4" high heels! Goes well with dress pants or skirts. 

These heels are work appropriate because they are closed toes and look very professional.

Who says silver and gold doesn't go together? For jewelries, I am wearing a silver necklace that has my initial on it (post a blog about it) and a gold necklace that has my astrology sign. I wear these two together most of the time.

April Birchbox Review!

I am kinda late on my Birchbox review which was meant for last month.... oh well, due to my busy schedule and finding the time to use some of the products before I write my review is important. I love receiving my monthly Birchbox and every time another month approaches I have this anxiety of wanting to know what's going to be in the box. As you know, these products are hand-picked by their makeup artists and each month there is a them to the box. This month is all about being environmentally responsible.


Birchbox is known for it's hot pink box, but this time it came in a light green box.... I guess to match the theme of being environmentally friendly. I do miss the hot pink tho..... =) I remember seeing the box in the mail, but I didn't recognize the packaging until I saw the name. Again, this is to honor Earth Day and all the packaging inside are recyclable.

I am already excited to see what's the theme for this month!

Let's take a look to see what's in store for us.

Here are the description of the items in the box. I like the card because it tells you how much it would cost to buy the full size.

First, it's the Zoya nail polish in the color DOVE. I have mentioned this brand before in my blog and why this is one of the top nail polish brand that I love wearing. Not only is it camphor free vegan friendly formula, there are over 300 colors to choose from.

The color Dove is a gray hue that is perfect for spring. It's light enough to match with all the spring accessories and colors. I am excited that it also came with a nail sampler that shows all the other colors in the Zoya intimate collection.

Second item is from Juice Beauty, Green Apple Peel. Sounds mouth watery good.... too good to put on my face. This is an organic peel that dissolves all the dead cells from your face and immediately brightens and smooth your complexion. It feels very cooling to the face .... the smell is not bad, but not the fruity apple I was expecting. I am going to use this until the last drop because it can help even out the skin which I am looking forward to.

After using the peel, you are to apply this moisturizer around your eye area for stem cellular repair. I have not used this yet to comment on it. I will try it tomorrow. =)  I am at the age where I am trying to make sure my skin stays healthy and to prevent any wrinkles.

There is a small package wrapped in a black ribbon... another surprise.....

Third item is a perfume sample called LIV GRN, Earth Eau de Perfum. Wow, this is made from biodegradable and sustainable ingredients.... at first this doesn't sound too good if you think about it....  but I when I dabbed some on my wrist... its incredible how good it smells. It's a mixture of Jasmine for the top note and sandalwood for the base note. This reminds me of a perfume from Abercrombie and Fitch.... it's very fresh with a bit of sweetness. I can definitely see myself wearing this on the weekend with a relaxing outfit. It is ECO- Friendly too!

It's $60 for a full size bottle and the bottle is made from environmentally- friendly material also......hmmm.... I am so tempted.

The fourth item is form Weleda, Wild Rose Smoothing Facial Lotion. I have never heard of this brand before and the best part is being able to try different products.  This is made entirely from natural, plant based ingredients.... like something you would just pick from your backyard and rub it right on your face..... I am just exaggerating a little bit but the point is it's all natural. It contains a high level of essential fatty acids and antioxidants. A small amount of this product goes a long way. The lotion contains a strong rose smell that I do enjoy, but for those who are sensitive to smell may not like this. Overall, this products states it ensures the skin maintains its elasticity and softness. I can definitely feel the difference with this product and I have only used it twice. 

This is an extra item that they throw in here to promote Earth Day. I have never seen this packaged like this before, but what you are supposed to do is plant this handmade paper into the soil, give it some water, and watch it grow into wildflowers. Since the weather has been nice in the city, I am going to try this in my backyard. I am not much of a gardening person, but I am just curious how this is going to look like once it starts to grow.

I like all the items that was in this box. Just patiently waiting for the next box..... **twirling my thumbs....
