OOTD: Sweater Dress

Hi Everyone,

It's the winter season and the sweater dresses are another must haves! One thing I like about sweater dresses is that it looks very well put together without too much effort. This dress is from H&M for $34.95 and it comes with a belt. During this time of the year, I like to pair dresses with boots to keep my legs warm and sometimes with black tights for an extra coverage.

For more warmth, put on a flyaway cardigan and you are set to go!

Stay fashionably warm!

Cooking with Sugarcookie: #2 -Scallops, longyard bean, and white rice!

Hi Everyone,

Thanksgiving is almost here and I need to start thinking about what to make. From my past experiences, the best way to learn how to cook is by trying it yourself. I have been cooking since I was in high school. I remember coming home from school and helping my mom in the kitchen. She would make me descale a fish (it can get pretty messy in the kitchen because the scales just fly everywhere. Sometimes I find them in my hair), gut the fish, chop the chicken, de-skinned the squid, wash the vegetables, cook the rice, pull the hairs off from the chicken's ass (yep, we want no hair in our food), etc... As you can see I eat everything and waste nothing.

Usually I would cook 3-4 days out of the week. I have always grew up eating at home and rarely do we go out to eat.  Ever since I moved out (which was a while ago), it's difficult for me to cook for just one person. So every time I do cook, all my dishes are for 2-3 people and I would end up eating it for the next 2 days.

Anyways, here is a simple dish that I cooked a few days ago that can done in 30 minutes.

1) Rice: I washed 2 cups of rice and put in the rice cooker ( I love that thing). Back then, my parents would cook it on the stove and you have to watch it to make sure it doesn't get burnt.

2) Scallops: I bought 1 - 1 1/4 pounds of dry sea scallops. I rinse the scallops with cold water and pat it dry with a paper towel. This is to absorb the water so the scallops can be easily seared in the pan.

With these scallops, I am going to cook it with 2 tablespoon of butter and flavored them with salt and pepper.

Once the fat begins to smoke in the pan, gently add the scallops, making sure they are not touching each other.

Sear the scallops for 1-2 minutes on each side. The scallops should have 1/4  inch golden crust on each side.

Look how nice and hot they are. YUM-O!

3) Longyard bean: I need a plate of vegetable with my meal so I decided to cook the bean with salt and garlic. First you want to wash the beans and cut them up into 1/3 because they are so long.

I drizzled some olive oil and sauteed the garlic until medium brown and then add the longyard beans in the pan. I didn't wash the pan after cooking the scallops because I want some of the butter that was in the pan to add more flavor onto the vegetables.

Here is my dish in 30 minutes!

 Bon appetit!

Blog Sale #3

Hi Everyone,

Good Evening! It seems like I haven't done a blog sale in a while and I am finally able to get around to do this. I have found several other pieces in my closet and my friend Ryan was able to find a model to wear them. It all works out well!

Let's start off the a Button-up Wool Trenchcoat. It is a very vibrant color coat that fits right in for Fall. The coat is doubly stylish with buttons in front and the back. This trenchcoat will go nicely with dark jeans, a pair of knee high black boots, and a nice dark top top to make this jacket really 'POP.' I bought this about a year and a half ago and I have only worn it twice. Again, I hope someone would put it to more use.

(Original price at $149 at Victoria's Secret)
                                                                   Selling for $60
                                                                   Size: 0P
                                                                   Condition: Great
                                                                   Material: 50% Wool, 50% Polyster
                                                                   Lining: 100% Polyster

The second piece is a tube dress that can be worn during the summer on its own or over a bikini heading to the beach. It has a stretchable band at the top and flows down like a babydoll dress. I love the paisley pattern and it is just so colorful. I would describe this as a Hobo style kind of look.

OOTD: Boyfriend Blazer is a must have!

Hi Everyone,

I got a package from Hautelook.com and I am excited to share with you what it is. I guess the the title of the blog gave it away..... oh well, it's a boyfriend blazer!!!! Hautelook.com is a site where they sell top brands for women (BCBG, Rock and Republic, Kitson, etc), kids, men, home, and beauty (Lorac, T3, etc). The clothes are authentic (brands) and are marked down a lot. It surprised me that they also sell vacation/hotel stays for 1 night at a 30-50% discounted rate. This site usually host private limited-time sale events that lasts 48-72 hours so for those early birds it starts at 8am Pacific time and it's first come first serve type of deal. Hautelook.com can be dangerous because it makes people become an impulse buyer. Once you put something in the basket, the 15 min timer goes off. What does this mean? It means that you need to add whatever else you want from that site within 15 min or it will empty your basket and put everything back on sale.  When it is put back, other people can grab it which sucks big time!

Anywho, I am supposed to be talking about my blazer...... so my blazer is from Matty M. I have never heard of this brand before, but I really like the style and the cut. It fits me perfectly. The original price was $115 and I got it for $39. It is made out of 100% cotton lining, 53% polyester, 47% Rayon.  Boyfriend blazers can easily be worn with jeans or dress pants. I feel like I can never have enough of these blazers!
The sleeves are folded to show a nice contrast and also to give you a feeling that you are wearing your boyfriend's blazer.

Here is the awesome blazer.

What I wore to work.....

AND I always have to add a 'POP' of color...... (ring: Forever 21 $4.50)
That's my OOTD (Outfit of the Day)!

Perfect Imperfection Tag!!!!

Hi Everyone,

Another day of work..... and finally home! I just want to unwind and relax, but one of my fellow blogger named SoOOshie RAW tagged me to do this...... what have you gotten me into..... crazy!!!! So for those of you who doesn't know what a Tag is, it is usually done on YouTube among the beauty community and it is exactly like the game "Tag, You're It." Well, SoOOshie decided that the blog community should join in on the fun and starts to tag everyone. Thanks...... I believe this tag was started by Andreaschoice on Youtube who thought why not let people know 3 things that you don't like about yourself( whether they are obvious to the world or something you pick about that no one else seems to see!) and 3 things that you do like about yourself.

I usually don't like doing these tags, but I will do it for you SoOOshie!!!!

Three things I don't like about myself:

1) The bump on my nose. I have always hated it. When I was younger I would try to push it down so it doesn't get any bigger. But, duhhhhh it's a bone and pushing it down doesn't help. Yeah, I didn't know better back then.
This is soooo weird to point out to everyone what I don't like about myself....... GOSH SoOOshie!!!

2) I don't like my stubbly fingers. I wish they were a bit longer and leaner. Whenever I cut my nails short, it would make my fingers look that much fatter. So, I would try to grow my nails out to make it look more proportional. =o)
3) "I wish I was a little bit taller, I wish I was a baller" It would be nice to be 5'5 but I can't do anything about that.... I just have to settled for being 5'1........ Pleaaassse let me grow a few more inches..... ok, I'm opening my eyes now..... am I still 5'1? Shit, I guess begging doesnt help.....

I have a lot of imperfections that I can think about but I am going to leave it at 3!

3 Things that I like about myself.....
This is hard.....

1) I like my hair. I used to not like it so much because it seems like no matter what I just couldn't get it to grow passed my shoulder. Now it's super long and shiny!
2) I like my nails. They have always been hard(not brittle) and long like my mom's. I am glad I got her nails but I think I got my Dad's fingers...... weird......

3) I like my smile and my one lonely dimple.

Ok, I am glad this is over with.... My Perfect Imperfection Tag!..... I Tag everyone who blogs!!!!

Cheap, Simple way of keeping your skin looking Healthy.

Hi Everyone,

Happy Monday! Coming home after a long day at work must be exhausting. On those days, I just want to take a warm shower and crawl into bed, especially during the winter. Getting enough rest is important for your body and for your skin. Besides a good rest, I want to include you all in on a little secret on how to keep your skin looking bight.  Someone told me about this and I decided to give it a try because it only cost $0.20 to do so.

Have you ever heard of an egg white mask? I am sure all of you have heard of it.  It helps reduce acne and tightens the skin. Well, this is similar to the egg white mask, but you don't need to go through the messy process of spreading the egg whites on your face.

1) Get an egg and boil it in water for 20 minutes. Make sure the water covers the top of the egg. You want the egg to get as hard as you can so when you peel the shell off the egg it doesn't break.

2) After 20 minutes, take it out and place the egg in cold water for 2 minutes until it is warm enough to hold in your hand. Don't let it cool down too much because we need the heat.
3) If it is warm enough to hold, peel the shell from the egg carefully. Make sure the egg is nice and smooth without any breakage.
4) Now, roll the egg on your clean face while it is warm for 5-8 minutes. (You can roll the egg however long you like until the egg is no longer warm on your face)
Make sure your face is nice and clean without any makeup.

5) Finally, you can eat your egg.  Just kidding... ewww who wants to an egg after you rubbed it all over your face.
At the end, I always peel the white off the egg to see how much dirt it has absorbed on the yolk. It's gross, but check it out.

Here is how an egg yolk looks like after it is boiled. Nice and smooth- just the way I like it! =o)

Well, here is how it looks like after I rubbed it all over my face. It has bumps on the surface of the yolk that shows what it has absorbed from my skin. Yuck! look at all the dirt.

I like to do this regiment 1-2 times a week and it's dirt cheap!

Have a nice night!
