The Seed of Chucky

Hello Everyone,

Halloween is less than 2 weeks away and I am still deciding what I want to be. For those who are still deciding, here is one of the many costumes you can wear and is very easy to do. It took me about 2 hours to put everything together. As you already know from the title of the blog, I will be the Seed of Chucky.
Ever since I was small, I have always wanted a Chucky doll. I remember going camping with my classmates and almost all the kids there have one except me....... Now, instead of getting one, I can be one.
If you don't know who Chucky is, here is a picture.  How cute is he? And he has freckles!!!!

Child's Play:
The whole movie is about a murderers soul getting trap inside a doll and wanting to get out. In order for him to leave the body of the toy, he needs to transfer his body into another person.
Anyways, you are probably wondering how can a doll have kids. Well, Tiffany who is his wife (from bride of Chucky) inseminated Tilly (a human) with Chucky's semen. I know.... crazy huh? And she gave birth after a day because of some kind of voodoo magic that accelerated the pregnancy process and she ends up having twins, a boy and a girl.

So, to create the look, I just used one big set of eyeshadows and blushes from NYX. I bought this from Hautelook.com. When it got to my house some of the eyeshadows were already cracked.

Such a waste.... The three main colors I used are Black (four rows down, third column from the left), Rusty red (first row, fourth column from the left), and White (four rows down, first column from the left).
Black: all over the lid, but do not go too high
Rusty Red: on the crease and a little bit above it
White: underneath the brow

I use the red/pink blush second row down, third from the left for my cheeks.

I also used Shu Uemura false eyelashes in Lavender Bloom. The lavender color doesn't show up in pictures, but I just love how the lashes look on. Yeah, my eyes were kinda red from staring at my computer for so long with my contacts.

Because Chucky has freckles, I thought it would be cute to have them too. I used a brown pencil liner to create those dots on my cheeks
Lipstick: Just a red lipstick I got from Halloween Spirit store for $2.99

Other things you will need:
Hair net because.... we are going to wear a red wig!!!

Now for the wig!!! I look more like Strawberry Shortcake than the Seed of Chucky.... The wig is a bit too bright.....
What I mainly want to do is create a doll like effect.

And the outfit...
I know... I don't look mean enough to be scary, but Chucky looks cute too.
Don't let my innocent look deceive you.

Created by Good Guy...... =o)

Have a great night!

Small Haul from Ambiance in San Francisco

Hello Everyone,

Finding items on sale from boutiques is one of my favorite things to do in the city. There are a lot of small boutiques along Union street and sometimes that is where you can find unique pieces for a decent price. After dinner and desert, my bf drove us to Union street and I was happy to find some cute accessories from a well known romantic boutique called Ambiance San Francisco. I believe there are only three stores in SF.
The owner, Donna O'Leary opened her first store on Haight Street and ever since then she expanded her business by opening two other stores in the city. Donna has a passion for fashion... hey that rhymes. She got her inspiration from Coco Chanel- one of my favorite entrepreneur and brander. Very classic and chic.

So, wondering what I got?

I saw this cute cluster necklace for $10, original price is $25 in one of their sale sections.
I can picture wearing this necklace with just a plain solid color t-shirt or sweater. It has such an unique style and combination. The turquoise cloth that looks like a flower mixed with metal charms and pearls gives off a vintage inspired look.

The next accessory I got is a square inside a square gold chain necklace. The quality is very well made, similar to the jewelry from Jewelmint. It is such a simple piece which makes it easy to match with almost any outfit. I would wear this with a black v-neck sweater with black skinny jeans to make this piece stand out or just a casual t-shirt with jeans and a black blazer.

Again, it was $20, but I got it for $5.

The next two accessories are head bands. The silkiness and puffiness of the bow makes them look so precious. This is definitely a summer accessory which I can't wait to wear. The bow will add an extra oommph! to an outfit.

I can't pass up such cute head bands that cost $5 each. Original price: $15
The quality of the fabric is what makes this head band stand out from others.

Awesome deal for amazing pieces.
Go check out your local boutiques. =)

MARK. Holiday Duo Eyeshadow Palette

Hello Everyone,

Most of you know that I am a Mark. Rep (visit my eboutique at http://dsu.mymarkstore.com/) and I think it's important as a rep to like the product that you are selling. I have used some of the eyeshadows before, but I thought it would be nice to try the holiday colors. There is a great holiday deal which includes two eyeshadows, two nail polish colors, and longwear eyeliner for just $22 (a $31.50 value). For now, I will show you the eyeshadow colors and how they look like on.

I love the simple, sleek look of this duo eye shadow compact from Mark.

The two popular holiday colors are SUGAR SUGAR (Light cream) and PLUM VELVET (Purple). The colors look beautiful together, but it was hard to pick up the color SUGAR SUGAR on my brush. The eyeshadow SUGAR SUGAR feels a bit hard and not soft enough to pack colors onto your brush. Maybe it's just the one I have that is kinda funky. I know I am supposed to say good things about it because I am selling it but I want to be honest. That being said, the PLUM VELVET is great! It's very soft and pigmented. Both of them have very little fallouts.

Another thing I like about this compact is it has a magnetic bottom so you can swap out the two shadows for other colors that you want to carry in your bag instead.

Here are the swatches, it took me 3 swipes for the eyeshadow SUGAR SUGAR to get to this color, whereas the PLUM VELVET only took 1 swipe.

I only used the two colors to create this look

On my face, I have on Neutrogena Healthy Skin and Maybelline concealer that I blogged about yesterday.
Blush: Milani Luminoso
Bronzer: Hoola from Benefit
Eyeliner: Maybelline gel liner

Yes, I look like I have an attitude going on. =o) But seriously, I was just trying to show the eyeshadow colors on my eyelid.
For my eyebrow, I am loving Maybelline Define a Brow. The tip is so thin which makes it easy to shape your brow.

Now, for winter, I want to add color to my lips. I used NYX MPL 11 RED and L'Oreal Infallible in Persistent Plum

Here is the complete look. Don't mind the hair.

Also, Mark. is coming out with really cute home fragrance for winter. Look how adorable this will be sitting on top of your dresser. It smells absolutely to die for. The scent is called VANILLA SNOW. This item doesn't seem to be on the website so if you would like to purchase it, let me know. I can't stop smelling it.

My new everyday face routine

Hello Everyone,

Sometimes it's good to change up the products you use on your face depending on the season. I have combination to oily skin, but during the winter, I find my face being a bit more dry so I would use something more hydrating. It's very important to put some lotion on your face before you add on the foundation.

The lotion/gel that I am using is called Clinique moisturizing gel. It feels very smooth and silky when it is applied. The texture reminds me of the Smashbox face primer. It will be nice if they make one with SPF.

After applying the moisturizing gel and having it sink into my skin, I apply the Neutrogena Healthy Skin liquid makeup foundation. I know I was loving the Maybelline FIT Me foundation a few months back, but this is even better. The Maybelline FIT Me is nice on my skin and offers great coverage, but it feels a bit too dewy and doesn't have a very long lasting power compared to the Neutrogena Healthy Skin.
Neutrogena Healthy Skin liquid makeup foundation has SPF 20 and has a blend of antioxidants to keep your skin looking young and healthy. I like foundations that are lightweight so it doesn't feel cake-y. The color that I wear is Fresh Beige 70. Neutrogena Healthy Skin is a bit more expensive than Maybelline Fit Me, but not by much.

Another great product to get is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer. It's very easy to use and a little goes a long way. So far, I am loving it. Even though I don't have deep wrinkles yet, I feel that this product doesn't sink into the lines. It contains goji berry and haloxyl which helps reduce the look of puffiness under the eye. Overall, it looks good and is easy to use. I am in the color 20 Light Pale.

These are all excellent products that I swear by and worth investing your money in.
Have a great night.

OOTD: Digging Loft Cream color sweater and my Jewelmint earrings

Hello Everyone,

It's cold. It's raining. Uggghh! This kind of weather makes me wanna wear sweaters and rain boots every day. It will be nice if I can wear rain boots to work because today, I had on my heels and I stepped in a big puddle of water. I know, it's not the end of the world, but having your pants soaked on the bottom from stepping in water just annoys me.
Having pulled over by the police and my pants being wet is just not a good day.

Let's get to my OOTD of the day:
Cream Sleeveless Sweater from Loft (Loft is a sister store to Ann Taylor).
Dark gray pants from Ann Taylor
This is just a simple every day work outfit that you can spice up with jewelry. Whenever I wear something very plain, I love pairing a bright necklace and earrings with it even if they don't match. I mix a lot of gold and silver which is a no-no but I think they look nice together.

Here is the Morning Rain Earrings from Jewelmint.com. Such an unique piece that everyone and their mother probably have.

Since I still feel the sweater is a bit plain, I wore a coral color pendant necklace to balance it out.
Necklace from H & M

It's so simple to make an outfit your own.
Have a great night!

Magnetic Effect Nail Polish

Hello Everyone,

Are you a nail polish fanatic like me? If you are, then you will be excited to see the coolest invention out there today. I first heard about this nail polish through one of the beauty magazines and I know that I just have to try it out. I was kinda hesitant about it because it seems too cool to be true. The latest craze is the Magnetic Effect nail polish made by Nails Inc. I got mine from Sephora, but I think they also sell it online at the Nails Inc website. Ever since OPI came out with the crackle nail polish, I didn't really hop on the bandwagon for that. I like the effect of this better than the crackle nail polishes even though they are two completely different things.

Nails Inc has came out with 3 colors so far and they are Trafalgar Square(silver), Houses of Parliament (purple), and Big Ben (gold)
I have 2 out of the 3 because they are kinda expensive for nail polish ($16) and I didn't know how it's going to turn out.

On the top of the cap, there is a magnetic strip that you need to use to create the effect. It has some kind of iron powder in the formula that will gravitate toward the magnet to form a pattern.

One thing I realized is you have to be quick in putting the magnet close to your nails as soon as you apply the polish to create a more dramatic effect. If you let the polish dry, it will not work.

Here's how my nails look with the polish and without using the magnet.... very plain. This was when the nail polish have dried out and it's too late to use the magnet. It is better to apply one nail at a time while it is still nice and wet for it to create the effect.

This is how it looks when it is used correctly. There is a small instruction manual on the bottle, but I never bother reading it... because I just like to learn the hard way.... In person, this has a 3D effect which looks very cool.

Hope this stirred up some of your interest in wanting to try it out.

Coupons and Savings from Ulta

Hello Everyone,

First, I need to do my happy dance, happy dance. Ok, so I went to Ulta with just one thing in mind and that is to look at the L'Oreal Project Runway Limited Edition. When I got there, of course, most of the products are sold out, but I was able to grab 2 items from that collection and other miscellaneous items. I have gotten some products from the Project Runway collection a month ago and now I have a small haul that I can  review in my later blogs.
Anyways, today's blog will be about how much I saved from all the products that I bought there. You wouldn't believe it and that is why I am sooooo happy.

Before I go into my blog, I want to take a moment to say it is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I am a big advocate for supporting the research. As you can see in my previous blogs, I have bought items where some percentage will go to Breast Cancer Research fund such as my clarisonic, glass water bottle, hairspray, makeups, etc. You can also go to your local Ulta store and make a $1 donation plus you get entered to win a $598 beauty bag with lots of goodies inside!

Inside this bag is where I want you to guess how much I spent...... hmmm.
Here is a clue:

As a makeup and fashion blogger, it can be difficult to try new products without spending too much. These are all drugstore makeups that I want to try. As you know, I am a big fan of Wet n Wild so I had to buy ALL the colors in their single palettes plus the 6 palettes. Now I can say I have all the colors from the Wet n Wild collection! If you have not tried them, you are missing out. They are comparable to the MAC eyeshadows!!!

The two items that I got this time from the Project Runway collection is the bronzer and the gold nail polish. I also heard great things about Maybelline eyeliners so I can't wait to test them out.

Have you guessed how much? The total cost is $73. HOWEVER, with my coupons, promotion of buy 2 get one free, and points, it came out to only $21 including tax. I saved $52..... 71% saving!  Not only did I save that much, most of the products here are from the new collection.

Here is what I have to prove it. You can see the -$1.00, -$2.00, -$3.50, -$2.50, -$11.98, -$32.00.
The points are easy to save because they have a lot of days where they offer triple points and that will just save you so much already.

I am big on coupons so it is always good to have them on you because with the coupons alone saved me $6.00
I hope this make people realize that it's ok to try different kinds of products and it doesn't need to cost an arm and a leg.
