November IPSY aka Glam Bag 2012

Hello everyone,

This month's Glam Bag is worth the $10. I have mentioned this subscription service before and it's great if you are someone like me who likes to try different brands of makeup. Every time I see this pink bag in my mail, I get excited.

Here are the items that are in my November Glam Bag 2012:
The bag that holds the makeup products this time around is a better quality than the ones in the past.

Single matte eyeshadow shade from the Balm called Matt Batali (dark gray). So far, I do like the eyeshadows from this brand. The packaging is cute and I don't get a lot of fallouts which mean it is well made.

Nail polish from Nailtini- the name of this brand captures my attention right away. Very creative! Whoever thought of this is name a genius!

The color I got in my bag is called Millionaire. All the glitter in this bottle sure does make it look like Millionaire.... definitely going to put this on tonight!

Pencil liner from Starlet called Chocolate. If you think black liners are too harsh, brown is a good alternative for a more natural look.

Tinted lipgloss from Bare Minerals in Dare Devil. Moxie are one of my favorite lipgloss of all time. They give your lips a nice tingling cool feeling. They are also tinted and not too sticky. Once you try it, you will probably want the whole collection.

Swatches of the lipgloss and the eyeliner

The last item in the bag is an eyebrow defining gel. I am not sure about you, but my eyebrows need to be tamed or they will look crazy! I have not tried this yet, but I know I need this.

Everything in this bag are items I will use, so for me, this is worth the $10. I am not a fan of little sample packets or perfumes. I rather get a mini size product that I can use and test.

Until next time,
stay healthy, beautiful, and inspired.

Have a great night!

Skyfall Bond Girl Inspired Makeup

Hello everyone,

Here is a look inspired by Skyfall, however, this is not the exact replica of what she is wearing. It's an intense and vampy look that you can wear to go out for a drink, but definitely not for everyday.

Here are the makeup I used for the eyes and lips:

Before applying the eyeshadow, I used the Two Faced Shadow Insurance as a primer.

From the Urban Decay smoked palette, I used Asphalt (you can use any gray color) and Blackout for my eyes.

Then I lined my upper lid with Almay black liner. This is not the best liner, but it was what I have at the time.

To finish the eyes, I put on a pair of faux lashes from Khroma. It is from the new Kardashian makeup line. The eyelashes are better than I thought and a pair of these can be used multiple times.

For the lips, I used both the lip liner and lipstick from the brand called Bite Beauty. The lip liner is in the color Tannin which is an orangey red.

The lipstick is in Rhone which is a bold red.

Have fun playing with makeup!

Until next time,
stay healthy, beautiful, and inspired.

Have a great night!

Dior Grand Bal 2012 Holiday Collection + Haul

Hello everyone,

I am so proud of myself for not buying any makeup from the time I did project tin pan until now. I was able to hit pan on 5 out of the 10 products I have listed in my previous blog. Now, it is the holiday season and most makeup brands have came out with their Holiday collections. The top three high-end makeup brand that I gravitate towards are Chanel, Dior, and a toss-up between YSL and Lancome.

For Dior Grand Bal 2012 Holiday Collection, I was able to get everything I wanted to try, but there were some items that I am not too impressed with and will be returning. All the holiday collections are limited edition so if you really want to try it make sure to get it.

There are two Dior 5- Couleurs Eyeshadow palette:  Night Gold and Fairy Gold.
The packaging is just beautiful!

I have picked the Fairy Gold because it has the gold shimmery eyeshadow that I feel I can wear for any holiday events. Be aware that the gold does have a lot more fallout but it is workable. At first, this palette looks like any other nude color palette, but once I swatch the colors onto my hand, I fell in love..... and that is the end of the story. I definitely recommend this palette if you are to pick between Night Gold or Fairy Gold. Actually, I would recommend this palette overall.

There are four different shades of lipstick for this collection: Diorling, Diva, Lady, and Marilyn. I picked Marilyn because I like the hint of pink with the red. My other choice would be Diorling because it is purely red which I like also. Again, the packaging is very adorable, however, I don't find the lipstick itself anything special.

The nail polish is the best out of this entire collection. Just the packaging alone sold me. There are 4 different colors for the Diorific Vernis which also match the names for the lipsticks: Lady, Dive, Marilyn, and Diorling. The two colors I got are Lady and Diva. Diva is the most gorgeous and popular color so it may be a bit to find in stores.

Now, for the other haul items I have are:

Eau De Parfum from Hollister called Addison. This smells so good and I have gotten so many compliments on it. If you are ever in the store, smell it. Subtly sweet and not overpowering. It is a "blend of sun ripened peach, peony, and sunshine musk." As most of you know, I love Pink Sugar, but this tops it. That's right, I said it. This will make such a great present.

Here is a reminder for those Sephora VIB members, there is a 20% discount starting tomorrow for anything in the store. This is when I try to stock up on some of the products I used most often and maybe also to try new products.

Until next time,
stay healthy, beautiful, and inspired.

Have a great night!

Favorite Tea for Fall and Winter

Hello everyone,

Here is a short blog for today. Since Halloween is over, it makes all the sense in the world to change my drinking cup from a cute ghost  to a penguin with a candy cain for Christmas. It is sad to see it being stored away in my cupboard until next year, but I am excited for November and December!

The two types of tea that I drink every morning are: Earl Grey and English Breakfast Tea. They are my favorites besides the Oolong tea.

Then at night, if I feel like having a cup of tea before bed, I would make the Sleeping Herbal Tea. These are my everyday routine for drinking tea, but during the Holidays, I tend to drink more tea than normal because it keeps me warm.

Have a great night!

Until next time,
stay healthy, beautiful, and inspired.
