Skylark by Elle and Blair Nail Polish Review

Hello Everyone,

I love nail polish and I just had to try Skylark Wild & Free because the colors look amazing.  Elle and Blair are two sister makeup gurus on YouTube who just came out with their mini nail lacquer set. Skylark is their trademark name for their cosmetic line.

The nail polish set is called Wild & Free which I think suits the colors.

Now on the other hand, the formula or the consistency of the formula in the nail polish is a bit streaky and does not glide evenly along the nail. I did have to apply 3 coats for sure to get a nice even, opaque color on my nail. Comparing the formula to OPI or even Essie, it's not comparable at all. However, after so many coats, I do like the colors and will continue wearing them for summer.

They do also chip fairly quickly, especially with the pink color called B-Days in Cabo. I was a disappointed because that was the first color I put on and just after 4 hours, the paint on the tip of my nails have already came off as you can see below.

This peach neon color is actually my favorite so far and it is called Jelly Shot.

Overall, I do like the collection, just not the formula.

I have been craving for cereals lately and here are two of my favorite ones: Honey Smacks and Corn POPS. I know these are plain and not as fun as Lucky Charms or Fruit Loops, but I like them like this. I don't like my milk turning into different colors or fruity flavors.

When I eat my cereal, I only pour a little at a time because I don't like them soft and soggy.

Alright, enough about my cereal right?
Mochi just want to say 'Hi'

Until next time,

Have a great night!

Personal Microderm (PMD) review

Hello Everyone,

If you are all about skin care or wants to improve the look of your skin, Personal Microderm (PMD) is a great tool to use at home instead of spending a lot of money in going to get microdermabrasion. For me, I like to take preventive measures to keep my skin looking firm and smooth. I do have hyper pigmentation and some sun spots because when I was younger I was never told to put on sun screen to protect my skin.

I have been using PMD for about 3 weeks now and I can see the difference. PMD works the same as microdermabrasion by exfoliating the dead skin cells from the outer most layer of the skin. The skin rejuvenates with new collagen growth and cell renewal. Overall, it minimize the appearance of fine lines, enlarged pores, blemishes, and wrinkles.

What I like the most about the system is when I apply my toner and moisturizer at night, I feel my skin absorbs the moisture so much better. Not only does it help get rid of old skin cells, you get your money's worth when your skin absorbs those expensive moisturizers that you use.

The kit comes with 3 sample packets of the PMD cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. Out of the three, I do like the moisturizer the most.

The kit also comes with caps and discs for the face and body. It is recommended for the user to watch the dvd that is in the kit first, even though it is very easy to use.

There are three different types of discs: sensitive, medium, and coarse depending on your preference. Once the disc becomes dull after several uses, you can buy more on their website: http://www.personalmicroderm.com/
Only use PMD once a week because using it too many times is not good for your skin.

PMD does work well and saves you a lot of money in the long run. I also like the idea of using this in the comfort of your own home instead of going to the clinic.

Since I do have my own toner and moisturizer, I use those instead.
Moisturizer: I use the Olay Fresh Effects during the day and at night I use my Lancome Genifique. Toner: I like to stick with my Lancome exfoliating toner.

It feels really nice to have healthy looking skin.
Until next time,
stay healthy, beautiful, and inspired

Have a great night!

House Project: Chandeliers from Khols

Hello Everyone,

This weekend, I was working on another house project. The house has old light fixtures that needs to be updated. I like a modern theme with a slight vintage feel. That being said, I went with chandeliers for all three of the lights I have changed out in my house.

If you have been following me on my little house projects, I don't mind getting down and dirty with putting together Ikea drawers, tables, or painting my house. However, no matter how many times I spent watching YouTube on how to change the ceiling lights, I still couldn't do it. I decided to leave that up to an expert because it is an older house and I don't know what to make it worse. I hired someone to do the wiring portion and I put the light together myself.

Here is a picture of one of the old chandeliers that was in the house (Now after seeing the picture below, you know why I had to change it out):

I replaced the old lights with the three chandeliers I got from Khol's during their friends and family discount which saved a lot.

For the dining room, I went with a large crystal chandelier (FYI, not real crystal):

The hallway, I wanted something small and precious so here is a mini chandelier:

For my room, I went with modern and chic:

Also, I like the look of the little paper lanterns, so I just added them to my plain white desk that is also from Khol's.

I hope this helps anyone who is trying to figure out how they want to decorate their house.

Until next time,
stay healthy, beautiful, and inspired.

Have a great night!

Live 105s BFD concert OOTD

Hello Everyone,

It was such a nice weather last weekend to go to a concert. I heard the tickets were sold out and I was glad my friend and I were able to get our hands on some tickets a few months before. If you have not been, I would recommend you to go next year. We met some wonderful ladies who have been going to these concerts since 2009 and ever since then they haven't missed a BFD concert.

At the main stage just to name a few: Awolnation, Passion Pit, Silversun Pickups, and Thirty Seconds to Mars were all playing that day. There were other bands such as Jimmy Eat World, Youngblood, etc..
Of course one of my friend's boyfriend is in a band called Mister Loveless.

It was a hot hot day and I decided to wear shorts and a light blazer with a fedora hat to help block the sun.

Fedora: Banana Republic
Blazer: Lauren Conrad
Tank: Brandy Melville
Shorts: Brandy Melville

Alright, this is when I had little too much to drink.....

Until next time,

Have a great night!

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Eau De Parfum Deluxe Refillable Edition and Flowerbomb La Vie En Rose

Hello Everyone,

Happy Mother's Day to all the mother's out there!

If you didn't get your mom anything and maybe still thinking about a late present, Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb is a nice gift to give.
I have heard people rave about the eau de parfum from Viktor and Rolf, so here is my take on it.

The packaging is awesome. I really like the way they have their initials in a wax seal "like" image on the box.

The first Flowerbomb was released in collaboration with L'Oreal in 2005. This perfume suppose to release an explosion of floral scents once you spray it on. The bottle is in a shape of a grenade and again with the wax seal logo on the side. The one I picked up from Nordstrom is the refillable edition. The concept is once the bottle is empty, I can bring it to Nordstrom for them to fill it up at a cheaper price instead of buying a new bottle. Now, for the scent, I really do enjoy it. In the beginning the smell is quite strong, but after 20 minutes it's perfect. The smell softens to beautiful scent that is both feminine and sexy.

The notes are: Sambac Jasmine, Centifolia Rose, Carrleya Orchid, Ballerina Freesia, and Patchouli
It's a mix of sweet and floral.

They also just came out with the Flowerbomb La Vie En Rose that is in a smaller grenade bottle. It has a refreshing and sophisticated floral scent. This will make a great Spring/Summer scent for day and night wear. This has more citrus scent than the original Flowerbomb.

Which one do I like more? I like both because they can be worn for different occasions, however, I am leaning more towards La Vi En Rose. It's more versatile and not as overpowering than the original Flowerbomb.

I am also loving my shirt from Brandy Melville: Bitch don't kill my vibe (heard of that song?). I think this is good to wear to a concert, but I would also wear this on the weekend.

Until next time,
stay healthy, beautiful, and inspired.

Have a great night!

Maybelline LIMITED EDITION Color Tattoos Summer 2013 Review

Hello Everyone,

Maybelline LIMITED EDITION color tattoo for Summer 2013 is out at your local drugstores. I am still hunting down 6 more colors, but I am happy to be able to show you 3 out of the 8 colors.

These colors are cool, crisp,  and have the duochrome effect which can look very pretty in moderation. I do think some colors are more pigmented than others so be aware. I like wearing them alone just to keep them simple, but they will also look nice as a base. What I really love about these Maybelline Color Tattoo eyeshadows is their staying power. Once they are dry, there is no way of moving them unless you use a makeup wipe.

The three colors I was able to get are: Lavish Lavender, Icy Mint, and Seashore Frost.

My favorite out of the 3 shades is the Lavish Lavender.

I am not sure if I completely like them mostly because they were hard to swatch and some of them I need to swatch 3-4 times to get to the color I have above.
Overall, I would only pick up the colors that I feel are most pigmented and for the other colors, I can live without.

I am soooooo happy to finally get my papasan from Pier 1 Imports for my room. I have always wanted one and they are finally on sale. My favorite color for furnitures is white so I had to get the white papasan cushion. This is where I will be lounging when I just want to relax and read my magazines or books.

Mochi already thinks this is her bed.

My diet for this week is mainly bone marrow and broad bean soup. Yum! I just love any type of soup.

Until next time,
stay healthy, beautiful, and inspired.

Have a great night!

New L'OREAL Miss Candy Spring/Summer 2013 Nail Polish and Infallible Eyeshadows

Hello Everyone,

Drugstore makeup has been stepping up their game. L'Oreal just came out with their Spring/Summer 2013 collection called Miss Candy and the colors really do look like starburst candy. It's fun, bright, and just full of happy colors.

There are many items in this collection, but I was only able to get my hands on some of them.
The Infallible eyeshadows are amazing and last up to 24 hours. I do feel they are the same quality, if not, better than high end eyeshadows. The two colors I picked up are: With a Twist (Purple) and Cherie Merie (Coral)

I like both shades and they are very pigmented. Really worth the price!!! So much cheaper than the Armani Eyes to Kill. For these eyeshadows, it can be used wet or dry.

For the nail polish, I picked up 3 shades: Mango Mamma, Lilac Coolers, and Bananarama Love. Such cute names.

I have on Mango Mamma and I feel the nail polish is sheer so I had to apply 2-3 coats to make it more opaque. It has a jelly look to them once they are applied to you nails. Overall, I do like them mainly because they are fun to wear for the summer.

Until next time,
stay healthy, beautiful, and inspired.

Have a great night!

Mother's Day Gift: L'OCCITANE Almond Shower Oil and Almond Milk Concentrate Review

Hello Everyone,

Mother's Day is coming up and there are many great gifts to give your mother. I celebrated Mother's Day last weekend and I got my mom something from L'occitane.
L'occitane started in Provence, south of France and it is known for its beautiful landscapes.  There are fields of lavender and almond trees which are two of their most popular scents.

I have used the almond shower oil for a few months now and my skin feels moist, soft, and smooth. It is not greasy at all and easy to wash off. This is basically a shower gel with oil. The almond scent is very mild, but enough for you to enjoy the smell.

This is my second set.

This time, I bought the full size bottle and once I am done with that I will just need to buy the refills. It is great to use when you want to pamper yourself once in a while.

I would recommend the shower oil with the Almond Milk Concentrate. This will help keep lock in the moisture and continue to keep your skin feeling smooth. The light, silky texture absorbs quickly and doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy at all.
When L'occitane came out with a Mother's Day gift set with this collection, I just had to get it for my mom. The box is gorgeous and it also came with an Almond Delicious Hand lotion and a massager.

A gift like this, your skin will definitely feel pampered.
In the store and online, they also have other gift sets and most of them are running out of stock so I would recommend you to check them out soon if you are thinking about getting a set for yourself or for your mom.

Until next time,
stay healthy, beautiful, and inspired.

Have a great night!
