Revlon Lip Butter

Hello Everyone,

I am sure everyone and their momma have heard of these infamous lip butters by Revlon.

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter:

Currently they are hard to find in your local drugstores because everyone wants to collect all the colors. But don't worry they are part of the permanent line so if you wait patiently you will eventually get a chance to try them. I remember when I heard about these in October, I rushed to my local CVS and everything was sold out.  Still they are hard to get a hold of, but not as bad as before. I went onto ebay and people were selling these for $10 or more when you can buy them at your local drugstores for $6.99.

There is a total of 20 different colors and I was able to collect 7 of the 20. I still find it expensive for a drugstore lipstick so I waited until they are on sale for 40% off or when there is a deal for buy 1 get the second one for 50% off.

The ones I got are (Left to right):
Candy Apple 035                                                                                         Gumdrop 060

Sweet Tart 090                                                                                            Lollipop 075

Sugar Frosting 005                                                                                      Cupcake 055

Tutti Frutti 015

The colors are very build-able. It took probably 3 or more swatches to get to those colors above.

PROS: Amazingly soft and moisturizing on the lips, does not feel sticky at all, build-able colors,  comparable to DIOR creme lipsticks, has 20 different colors, decent price (prefer to buy it on sale).

CONS: Does not last very long on the lips, have to re-apply every 2-3 hours, packaging feels a bit cheap, hard to find.

After trying the colors, I would say the two colors that I like the most are Gumdrop and Sugar frosting. No need to collect all the colors because not all the colors look good on everyone and their skin tones.

I am still looking for Creme Bule and Peach Parfait which  are more for everyday wear but they are no where to be found at this time.... =o( Going to wait patiently

Oh, and one more thing. One of my friend introduced me to this great snack 2 months ago and now I am addicted to it.  She knew I love munching on chips and it doesn't matter the time of day. I will eat them when I wake up and before I go to sleep...... yeah I love eating chips. But I know they are not good for your body so she told me to try these snacks called Snapeas and I can't stop eating them. At least they are healthier than those greasy bag of chips I have been eating.

I have tried to eat more of mix fruits and nuts to be healthier but I will tend to go back to munching on my chips. After eating these Snapea Crisps it has reduced my cravings for potato chips. I also saw Elle talk about these in her vlog and was excited because they are really good. Give them a try! They are in the produce section at Safeway!

Have a great night!

Maybelline Baby Lips Repairing Lip Balm

Hello Everyone,

Another stocking stuffer idea and a great moisturizing product that will keep your lips soft and buttery throughout the winter. Maybelline came out with tinted and non tinted lip balms that claim to give you visibly renewed lips in 4 weeks. Not only will it leave your lips moisturized for the full 8 hours, it also has has SPF 20.  After seeing ads and hearing good reviews about them, I decided to give them a try.

I am a sucker for cute packaging so when I see other colors for this, I feel the urge to want to collect them all. There is a total of 6 different colors and I think two of them are clear. They are $3.99 each which I think is a decent price comparing to Burt's Bee tinted lip balms that cost $6.99.

They are also coming out with 4 more colors..... which I can't wait to try.

The colors that I love so far are Grape Vine, Peach Kiss, and Pink Punch. I want to try Anti-oxidant Berry and Energizing Orange.

I love them so much that I had to buy a back up of each.... that is how obsessed I am with these. After using this for 2 weeks I do feel my lips being softer.... or maybe I just love applying them on so much that I want to believe it is making my lips softer.... either way.... I do enjoy the feel of it on my lips. Tinted lip balms are also very useful because I can apply them without a mirror when I am in a rush. The colors do show, but it's hard for someone to overdo it because they are so sheer. I can see the colors.... after going over them three times.

Top swatch: Pink Punch
Middle swatch: Grape Vine
Bottom swatch: Peach Kiss

I know it claims to keep your lips moisturized for the full 8 hours, but I am the type that tend to lick my lipgloss or lipstick off after 2-3 hours and after it comes off my lips does not feel moist until I reapply it again. Once I do reapply it, my lips do feel really nice. One of ingredients in here is Shea butter which is a big moisturizing component. Anything with Shea butter feels so soft.
Overall, I love the packaging and it feels great on the lips. Two thumbs up!

Now, I am going to go eat the red velvet cupcakes that I made earlier today. YUM! Wondering why I don't have icings on the little ones? I am not a big fan of icings or creams. Whenever I eat a cake, I like the spongy part and would just take the cream out. =o)

Have a good night!

Eyeshadow Palettes for under $3: Great stocking stuffers

Hello Everyone,

Thanksgiving is almost here and I am starting to make my list of presents. I found some eyeshadow palettes  that are inexpensive and are great for stocking stuffers. Recently, Walgreens have been carrying these beauty books on their display for $2.99. These eyeshadow palettes reminds me of E.L.F cosmetics.
The packaging is very cheap and the eyeshadows are decent. I recommend these for people who are just starting off with makeup or someone who just like to try all types of makeup like me.
It only comes in three different palettes: Blue (Aqua Bella), Bronze/Gold (Sun Goddess), and purple (Drama Queen).

Brand: Markwins International

The inside is a plastic container that holds a mirror, 11 eyeshadow palettes (including the glitter), black/brown eye pencil, and a double ended sponge tip. The colors are beautiful and they compliment each other very well.

I will be using some of the eyeshadows from one of the palettes called Sun Goddess.
I find the color combination is great for an every day wear.
The colors I used are:
First row, second column for all over eyelids
First row, first column for the eyelid from base to crease
Third row, third column for outer edge and across the crease
First row, fourth column for highlighting underneath the brow bones.
Pat a little bit of glitter on top of the the eyelid to give off a bit of sparkle.

Without a primer, the color still shows up very pigmented.

Here are the eyeshadows on:

To keep everything minimal, all I used on my face are Maybelline Fit Me foundation in the color 235 and Laura Geller Balance n Brighten Tan to give me a dewy glow.
Let me tell you.... Laura Geller Balance n Brighten is the shit!! It is the only thing I use now to create a glow-y looking skin. I am in love with this!!! If you have not tried it, you have got to try it.

This is a baked color correcting foundation in Regular/Medium. It is very easy to use and is paraben-free. It also has anti-aging and anti-oxidant protection. It is a bit expensive, but it's worth your money. The color is so beautiful!

A natural look with very minimal makeup

Have a great night!

Red and gold Eyeshadows. SF Niners!

Hello Everyone,

I am so proud of the Niners this year. They have really stepped it up after so many years of trying to find themselves. I have been a Niners fan since I was in middle school when Joe Montana was playing for the Niners. Even my mom knows who the niners are because my family watches their games all the time. To get into the spirit, I decided to create a look with red and gold.

Somehow the gold looks more yellow in pictures, but I swear in person it looks more gold.

Products that I have used:
Makeup Forever 12 color palette: I know this is an expensive set to buy, so just use any red and gold color palette. I used these cream colors to help enhance the red and gold eyeshadows that I will be applying later.
I pat the gold color from my inner eyelid to the middle of the lid. Then I took the red color and applied it to the rest of the lid. I also used the black color in this palette to draw the lines on my cheekbones.

On top of these colors, I am using the red from the Wet n Wild collection called Enter a New Realm and.......

the yellow to mix with the gold from Bright Idea

These are cheap palettes that are very pigmented. I love them so much that I bought the whole collection.  For my eyeliner, I used #77 black matte gel eyeliner from Inglot. I like this gel eyeliner more than MAC and Maybelline.

I also added some glitter from ELF on top of the black eyeliner for some sparkle.

Here is my finished look:

Niners for LIFE!

Have a great night!

MUA: Hair and Makeup for wedding

Hello Everyone,

I am ecstatic to share with all of you some of the work I have done at my cousin's wedding. I enjoy playing with makeup and I cannot wait to work with others in the future. The makeups that I normally bring to weddings are from MAC, Le Cosmetique, and the Naked palette from Urban Decay. The Naked palette is great to use at weddings because it is full of neutral colors. For brushes, I use a variety of brands such as MAC, Sedona Lace, Sigma, ELF, and Sonia Kashuk just to name a few.
* Thank you Nema Photography in San Diego for some of these great pictures.

Let's start with some before and after pictures... I am glad the girls let me take a picture of how they look before. I only have two before pictures because I keep forgetting to take one and by the time I realized that I forgot, it's too late.... I know people love seeing the before and afters.

Of course, the day of the wedding always start at the crack of dawn. 5am......
The is the beautiful bride early in the morning and she is smiling for the camera.

I will be doing her makeup and hair.
Starting off with the curlers!!!

Yeah, I don't look awake either.....

Here are some pictures of the bride after (more later in the blog):

Her Maid of Honor (I only did the makeup).

After:

And her other two bridesmaid (I only did their makeup):
After (forgot to take before pictures):

I am re-touching the bride's makeup and re-doing her hair.

For the ceremony, I changed her hairstyle to loose curls with half her hair pinned up.
Here are the the beautiful girls:

Congrats to the both of you!

Hopefully you enjoyed looking at some of my work.
Have a great night!
