Sigma High Definition brushes!

Hi Everyone,

Good makeup brushes can cost an arm and a leg, but not anymore.  I remember when I was younger I couldn't afford to buy a MAC brush.... those darn thing cost a fortune. So, I would use my fingers to apply my makeup (make sure your fingers are clean though). I still do for some foundations because the warmth on your fingers melt the makeup which makes it easier to apply than a brush. Now, I can afford to buy some MAC brushes but they are still quite expensive. I only buy the ones that I need because the brushes can cost from $17.50 to $52 for one small brush. Cray Cray isn't it?
I guess if you take care of your brushes then it will last a long time so investing in nice quality brush is good. Not only do they last longer, they provide a flawless look when you apply your makeup.

Well, there is another online site that sells good quality makeup brushes called Sigmabeauty.com. These brushes are comparable to MAC. They have very soft fibers/filaments that feels good against your face. A lot of youtube beauty gurus rave about these and I can tell why. The high definition brushes were high in demand and since they are back on the website, I ordered a set. This set comes with 3 brushes: Sigma F82 Round Top Kabuki, F80 Flat Top Kabuki, F84 Angled Top Kabuki.

It cost $42 for all three, if you buy these brushes at MAC you will be paying $116. What a difference in price.

In addition to my set of brushes, I got a complimentary travel brush too with my order. I love receiving free bonus items, who wouldn't?

Here it goes, the three infamous high definition kabuki brushes!

F80 Flat Top Kabuki brush: The best brush of them ALL! This is for applying liquid, cream, or powder products.

Hey.... you can see the color of my nail polish. It is Kelly from the "Wonderful" collection from Zoya that I blogged about yesterday. Love the color!

So, when I got this set, the first brush I used was the F80 and it makes my liquid foundation on my face look flawless. Now the brush is yellow =(..... I clean my brushes after each use with MAC makeup brush cleaner. It takes the products off and also prevents bacteria from growing in your brushes... after all, you are using it on you face so make sure to keep the brushes clean. Once in a while I will use johnson & johnson baby shampoo to do deep cleaning on these brushes.

F84 Angled Top Kabuki brush: This is good for blushes or bronzers. I find it easy to contour my cheeks with this brush. I haven't used the new one yet because I have another one of these from Sigma that I have ordered few months ago.

F82 Round Top Kabuki brush: This brush is used for areas that are hard to get to with other brushes like around the nose or under the eyes. I have never used this brush before, but I will tomorrow!

I usually like to keep the cover on my brushes so it can maintain the shape.

Good deal for good quality brushes!
Keep up the good work Sigma! MAC has competition now.... they need to step up their game.

"Wonderful" collection from Zoya

Hi Everyone,

I got another package in the mail and it's my Zoya nail polish collection sampler that I ordered on 01/06/2011 and it took forever to get here..... I almost forgot that I even ordered this. When I opened the box, I saw the "Wonderful" collection that I ordered, but I didn't see the plates that should have came with it. I wanted to get the plate to show how each color looks. I ordered 3 plates.... Wicked, Wonderful, and Intimate.... Aarrrrgghhhh.... I am upset. Even though the plates are free, I am beginning not to be a fan of Zoya because they didn't send me my plates with my purchase. I love their colors and one of the best thing about this brand is that it is toluene, formaldehyde, and dibutyl phthalate free.... meaning it is safe to put on pregnant moms' nails (no, I am not pregnant, but I like to encourage products that are safe to use). Besides my OPI, Essie, and China Glaze collection, Zoya is also on my list of favorites. I usually like to get their collection sampler because it has just the right amount (15ml) and I can try every color from that line.

I bought the "DARE" collection half a year ago and I like the brush and of course the colors.
The "Wonderful" collection also has amazing colors and I just can't wait to put them on.
$36 for the sample collection

I am going to rock Kelly tonight! =o)

Eyelash Enhancer/Stimulator

Hi Everyone,

In one of my blogs I have talked about eyelash extensions and they are great. I do miss them. However, they can be expensive to keep up because they need to be maintained every 2 weeks. Every visit is about $25 or more depending on where you go. Also, with eyelash extensions I find it hard to apply eyeliners and you need to be careful while removing your liners or else you will end up removing some eyelashes along with it. I prefer to use q-tips. Because of these reasons, I decided to try out other products that will hopefully give me similar impact as the eyelash extensions.

I ordered LiLash from Ebay which I have heard give good results. I have been using this for 3 months and I just started to notice my eyelashes getting longer. In the first month, I didn't see any growth and it was frustrating. I went from having long lashes with eyelash extensions to nothing. Another month passed and I still haven't noticed anything different. Gosh darnit! I was about to give up. I know in the instructions it said to apply it twice a day, one time in the morning and one time at night. I have only been applying it at night so maybe that is why it took a while for me to see any results.

Now, I can see that it is working.
LiLash: Helps you grow long, thick lashes fast. After you start getting the results that you want, you don't have to apply it daily.

Without mascara

With one coat of Mascara

There are positive and negative reviews about this and I would like to call them out.
Pros:
It works.
It's probably one of the fastest eyelash stimulator on the market.
Easy to use

Cons:
LiLash ingredient contains prostaglandin and paraben. Paraben is a preservative that is used in a lot of cosmetic makeup, shampoos, moisturizers, shaving gels, toothpaste, even in food. It mimics your body's own hormone and can have endocrine disruptive actions.
Can cause swelling and discoloration on your eyelid. For 2 weeks my eyelids were irritated and red.

This works similar to Latisse but it is non-prescription.
On Ebay you can purchase this for $80 for one tube and it will last 4-6 months.

Ever since I heard LiLash contains paraben as one of their ingredients, I will not re-purchase this again. It works wonders, but I did some research and will be using a different brand of eyelash stimulator.

I bought an eyelash enhancer serum called Enormous Lash. It is prostaglandin and paraben free. I will be switching to this once I am out of LiLash and I will test it to see how well it works. On Ebay, it is half the price of LiLash. You can buy it for $45 and I heard it doesn't really irritate your eyes as much, but I think most eyelash stimulators will for at least a week.

I hope this helps those who are interested in getting long luscious lashes without having to maintain them at a salon.

Urban Decay Naked Palette!

Hi Everyone,

I finally received my NAKED palette from Sephora a week ago and I am loving it. The palette has a lot of neutral colors and are very pigmented. I am impressed! I have wanted one since the end of November, however, they ran out of them. I have checked Sephora and Urban Decay online and both places were out of stock. I was like a mad woman trying to get my hands on these. When I saw it on Sephora, I had to grab two sets..... I was obsessed with it even though I have never tried it. I already know in my mind that I will love it. After ordering two sets I was starting to regret why I had to order two.... I was afraid I got my hopes up so high that when I do get the product I will be disappointed. Sort of like going to the movies, you anticipate for the movie to come out, but when it does your not satisfied because it didn't meet your expectations.

Well, I don't regret buying two sets because they are exactly what I have in mind. I use them every day and I after I finished these up I will definitely buy another set. The new NAKED palette has a brush instead of the eye pencil. The brush alone cost $26 and the set is a bit more expensive than the original palette (original $44, New $48). Urban Decay still have the original NAKED palette left and will be selling those out first and then the new NAKED palette will be in store soon. I saw that Sephora has started carrying the new ones already on their website.

Ok enough talking... LET'S GET NAKED!!

Each set also comes with a primer potion to help keep the eyeshadow on and not crease throughout the day.

Look how beautiful these colors are..... I used the lightest color on the left as a highlight for my brow
bone and mixed the two brown colors in the middle for my lid.

This is the palette I will be reaching for to do my daily look.

Drugstore Haul

Hi Everyone,

It seems like I haven't posted a blog in a while..... been busy lately and going through some emotional things.... so I haven't been able to sleep too well. In the morning I will wake up with some dark circles and puffiness under my eyes. It was Sunday and I love getting the Sunday newspapers because of the coupons. Yes, I do clip out coupons and use them when I go to the drugstores to buy any makeup products. Hey, every dollar counts these days so look out for those savings. I learned this from my mom..... when I was little I would help her look through these coupons to see what we need. If I find anything that I like that has a saving of $1.50 or more she would tell me to hold onto it until we get to the store. I appreciate the values that she instill in me even if it's only $0.50-$1.50 savings it still adds up. Why do I get off topic.... again??

Anyways, so as I was looking through the coupons I saw one for Garnier Anti-Puff Eye Roller. It's like someone from up above is trying to tell me something..... whoever it is can read my mind. Do other people ever get that? or Am I just going psycho? Well, it was a saving of $1.00 woohoo! I quickly ripped it out and I also ripped out another saving of $1.00 for maybelline mascara. Drugstore shopping is exciting.... not everything needs to be from Sephora (but, hey I like that store too since I am a VIB member).

At Walgreens, I picked up 4 drugstore items. I went in there thinking I am just going to get two items and I came out with four items..... this always happen to me..... I need to stop these urges.... they can be dangerous. The first thing I got is the Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Puff Eye Roller. I heard a lot of people raving about this product and how effective it was. How does a person get puffiness under the eye? It is said that during your sleep, circulation slows down and causes fluid to collect in your lower eye area. By using this product it "gently stimulate micro-circulation around the skin's delicate eye area to decongest excess fluid for diminished dark circles and puffiness." Most people claim that they see results within one week.... it's been only one day for me and I don't feel anything yet. We will see how good this is.

Walgreens is having a sale on this product.
Original price $12.99. Sale: $9.99 + $1.00 off coupon= $8.00

Of course next to it is another roller called Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Dark Circle Roller. This is a 2-in-1 solution that helps reduce dark circles and has an added blendable coverage. There is a bit of a tint and it matched my skin tone so I said why not give it a try. I think it only comes in one color so I don't know if everyone can use it..... maybe just for someone who has light skin with a yellow undertone.
I have used this product for two days and I like it. The negative thing about this is that it is very liquidy... I don't know if this is a word... but you know what I mean. When I opened the package there were some products that leaked onto the cap.... which means more solutions are spilling out of the rollerball than needed.

Overall, I would recommend this product. I used this on my under eye before I apply my concealer.

This is what I meant by it leaking.... I feel like it can be a waste of the product.
Both of these products contain caffeine that helps brighten up your eyes.

The other products that I bought are the Maybelline Volum' Express. I have used the Colossal one before and I do like it... it's more to thicken your lashes. Since Walgreens is having a buy one get one 50% off plus my coupon I decided to get the Falsies also. This one claims to have a false lash effect which I am dying to try. I am planning to use both at the same time to see if they give my lashes more volume. For lash extensions, I like L'Oreal Clean Definition Telescopic.... it seems to work for my stubborn Asian lashes.

The spoon brushes are different for both of these mascaras which gives it a different effect.

Ok, well these are my latest drugstore finds. Still testing them out to see if I would re-purchase them again.

OOTD: Steven by Steve Madden Open Toe Lace Up Black Leather Bootie

Hi Everyone,

Hautelook.com has done it to me again...... they had these amazing leather booties by Steve Madden that were originally $198 and I was able to grab it for $65. These booties are very versatile with dresses and skinny jeans. Not only are they hot, they are comfortable to walk in. The only con that I can think of is the lace..... it tends to get loose very fast so either I have to tie them really tight or double knot the lace together in order for them to stay throughout the whole day. Lace up heels have a sexy appeal to them and can spice up any outfit so girls make sure you have one in your closet.

Here is a quick outfit that I put together to show you how easy it is to pair this with a simple top and a skirt.  These booties will also look nice with a pair of dark skinny jeans and a simple top. The booties speaks for themselves.

Have fun and be creative!
