Wet n Wild "I Dream of Greenie" and "Sweet as Candy" trio palette

Hello Everyone,

After trying the Wet n Wild trio eyeshadow palettes, I find that they are just as good as using high end eyeshadow palettes. I was surprised about how easy it is to apply these eyeshadows because they are so pigmented and there is no need to pack on a lot of colors. I remember using Wet n Wild when I was in high school and they have really come a long way. The packaging can still use some work and the plastic that holds the palettes feels a bit cheap, but the eyeshadows are phenomenal. I can see how the eyeshadows can crack inside the case because it's not sturdy, so be careful. I am not complaining since it only cost $2.99.

Wet n Wild has a lot of cute combination colors in their permanent line and they also came out with the Dream Weavers Limited edition trio palettes. I know some Walgreens are already carrying them, but I did not find any in the city yet. Gotta collect all six palettes!

The ones I have are from their permanent line..... I think I have 6 or 7 palettes. The two palettes I have here are:

I Dream of Greenie- The green for the crease and the eyelid are very fun to wear. Also great if you want to create that pop of color on your lower lid. Too bad they don't have names for each color inside the palette.

and Sweet as Candy: a nice every day color. Soft and neutral.

Eyelid: green from I Dream of Greenie
Crease: brown from Sweet as Candy
Brow bone: white from Sweet as Candy
Too bad I didn't put on my fake lashes which would have enhance the look a bit more.
This was taken after 8 hours of work and the color still looks good on

Have a good night!

July Birchbox Time!

Hello Everyone,

It seems like I haven't been blogging about makeup/beauty item reviews in a while. I do miss that part of it since I have been working on my side project a lot more lately, but I will try to have a balance of both in my blogs

So, it's that time of the month.... not that type if you know what I am talking about..... I meant it's July Birchbox time!

This month, the items in the  box are picked out by a designer named Cynthia Rowley. The box contains some of her all-time favorite products. I noticed a few months ago that some people get different items in their Birchbox than what I have in mine. I guess it's based on the questions that they asked you in the beginning to determine which products to send you..... I wished I got the Pur minerals 4-in-1 pressed powder foundation, but oh well.

The box looks really pretty this month. They have added an extra colorful sleeve to the box. It's always a surprise to see how they change up the look of the packaging which tells me that they focus a lot on the details. I love that!

Here is the summary card of that the theme is for this month. The border of the card matches the sleeve of the box. Awesome! Details, details, details! Turquoise tissue instead of hot pink.

On the back of the card, it has all the full size items listed with the price

Now, the best part is to see the products INSIDE the box.

The first thing that caught my eye is the snack bar. Yes, I go for the food, instead of the beauty products. I know..... they are actually pretty equal in my book, but I would rank food slightly higher. Wow, look how tasty that looks. *drooling*

I only blinked for a second and it's all gone.... inside my stomach.... sorry bf, I was going to save it for you, but I couldn't help it. Actually, I didn't even tell him. Yeah, it was that good. Normally, I am not a granola bar person, but this was darn good. It has a little sweetness from the apricot and crunchiness from the almond. When they are mixed together it's nice and chewy. I need to know where to buy some of this. It's a healthy way to snack because it is all natural, gluten and wheat free, no trans fat, dairy free, and very low sodium.

The next item, is the Redken Shine Brillance 02. I have used it twice so far and it's not bad. I like the smell and it does give my hair a bit of a healthy shine. I don't put a lot of products in my hair, but it's nice once in a while to tame those fly-aways and cover the dryness of my hair.

Then, there is the Ahava Mineral Hand Cream. It's always nice to have a hand cream in your bag and this would be a nice one to have. My hands are normally not too dry, so I don't need it, but I will keep it in my bag for others to use.

Oooh... another small surprise.

Inside we have Philosophy Purity one step facial cleanser. It gently cleans away dirt, oil, and makeup without drying out the skin. I used this in the shower and it goes on pretty smooth and feels nice after I washed it off. I don't think it took off all my makeup, but most of it. I still feel like the Philosophy facial products are expensive and I don't think I will buy it, however, I will definitely use the sample I have here.

The last item, is one of my favorite brand of nail polish. I have talked about Zoya in my past blogs and I do have an extensive nail polish collection. I find it fun to collect because they are pretty to look at. The one that came in this box is called Shay. It's a beige/nude color with a hint of pink. If I want to keep it simple, this is a great color to wear.

Have a great weekend!!!

My Side Project as MUA with Model Yulya

Hello Everyone,

I definitely enjoy what I do on the side and that is making people look beautiful on the outside as they are in the inside. It was a crazy, but fun day to work with a great model like Yulya and a fantastic photographer like Ryan Chua. I usually like to emphasize on people's natural features. With Yulya, it's her green eyes. The look we are going for is more natural and nothing too dramatic. This shoot is for a website called Sneakpeeq.com. You guys gotta check it out! It's similar to Gilt Groupe.com and Hautelook.com that sell high-end luxury items for a fraction of the price. I know I saw a jacket that I really want to get. Can't wait for it to come out.

OOTD: Paisley Handkerchief Dress

Hello Everyone,

The weather has been getting better in the city and it's time to bring out those summer dresses. I love the way they look so feminine and yet so simple. With a summer dress, you don't want to over do it.......just let it be. One of the best places to buy summer dresses is from Forever 21 and they don't do too much damage to your wallet either. They have been coming out with great styles and surprise, surprise, this is one of them down below.

It's called the Paisley Handkerchief Dress.... duh! It's the title of this blog. I love how this dress is very flowy and has a lightweight fabric.
Forever 21: $29.80

The pattern of this dress is so gorgeous that I don't want to wear anything to take that away, so for jewelry I would recommend something simple. When I wore this dress, I just had a plain necklace that I wear everyday. Here, I paired it up with a seashell medallion from Express that I got a while back.

Because the weather is so unpredictable in the city, it's always good to pair your outfit with a jacket. I decided to go a bit more casual and wear a jean jacket that I got from Banana Republic years ago. Jean jackets are a must have in your closet because it's always in style.

Now the outfit is almost complete.....

For the feet, I have my Armani Exchange sandal that my bf got for me a year ago. I wear this so much that I am surprised it has not worn out.

Here is the outfit on. You can also wear a white cami underneath if you want to add more layers like I did.

Night!

OOTD: Ribbon and White Pearls

Hello Everyone,

I have rediscovered my love for pearls. When most people think about white pearls, they tend to think it's for people in their 40's or 50's, but I beg the differ. Erase that stigma out of your mind. Pearls can be worn at all ages. What makes a difference is how you wear it. Pearls do display a bit of elegance and sophistication which makes it easy to enhance any outfit. Just some background education about pearls. Pearls comes in different shapes and sizes. There are different quality pearls ranging from an A to AAA.

A: Lower quality freshwater ( represent 60% of pearl harvest)
Shape: Off Round
Luster: Poor

AA: Medium grade freshwater ( represent 20% of pearl harvest)- commonly found in department stores
Shape: Off Round
Luster: Medium

AA+: High grade freshwater (represent 10% of pearl harvest)- Found in finer jeweler stores
Shape: Near round to round
Luster: High

AAA: Very high grade freshwater (represent 1-2% of pearl harvest)
Shape: Round
Luster: Very high

That being said, the ones that I have here are AA+.
With just a white ruffled button up shirt from H&M, I was able to add the pearls to amp up the look. I love the shine that it gives off and the quality is just out of this world. Normally, these are sold for $250, but I was able to get them for $68. Great deal! You can pick these up at prizedpearls.com but I don't think the promotion is still going on.

Also, I want to wear something fun so I added a leopard print ribbon on my shirt for a more modern/younger chic vibe.

The back of the ribbon shown below can be used for both as a clip for your hair or a pin on your shirt.

For pants, I got them from Alloy. com for $22.90. The reason I got them is because it has cute detail buttons in the front. How adorable is that??!!!
Looks great with the shirt being tucked in to show off the buttons.

Then, the shoes that I paired the outfit with are the same ones from my previous OOTD blog. They are from shoedazzle.com for $20

Here is the outfit on

Have a great weekend!

Healthier and Innovative way to Hydrate

Hello Everyone,

Here is a way for you to keep hydrated with a nice glass container. Buying bottled water can get expensive and also it's not eco-friendly. Over the past few years, I have tried different refillable plastic water bottles and over time, I can taste the plastic in the water. YUCK! Then I feel like I have to buy another refillable bottle which is a waste of money and defeats the purpose. Recently, on Gilt Groupe (a site where they sell high-end clothing to home decors for a fraction of the price), a company called Takeya had some of their products for sale. I checked it out and also visited their website. Or was it on Hautelook.com.... aggghhh I forget. It was one or the other.

Takeya USA is from here obviously and there is also one in Japan. Their products are centered around Japanese- inspired designs which uses modern, unique, and high quality craftsmanship to provide solutions to help save the consumer money. All the water bottles that they sell are made out of pure glass and have airtight leakproof twist cap. Reusable glass bottles are better than reusable plastic bottles for many reasons. It does not have any plastic taste, keeps water pure and fresh, and are free of any toxic chemicals.

This bottle is called the Modern Glass Water Bottle: $17.99 on the website. I was able to get it for $9.99 (I think)

Not only is it a nice water bottle (reminds me of VOSS), if you buy this pink one, they donate $1 to the Living Beyond Breast Cancer Foundation. A definite PLUS! All their water bottles have a nice silicone jacket that gives you a better grip.

The only con is that it's heavier to carry around than a plastic bottle.

So, on my bottle it has the pink ribbon imprinted on the lower right side of the jacket.

I have been carrying and using it every day. Also, the bottle and silicone jacket are dishwasher safe.

Drink lots of water!!!

OOTD: How to enhance an outfit in seconds!

Hello Everyone,

By adding accessories to an outfit makes a big difference and I will show you how that can be done. In my previous OOTD blogs, I have talked about adding a pop of color to an outfit which is something I want you to keep in mind. A plain old looking outfit can look like something you bought from a runway show in seconds.... well, sorta. =)

Here is a plain gray outfit.
T-Shirt from Lucca Couture (A clothing site that Kendall Jenner is promoting) Can also be seen on the Kardashians. Lucca Couture is designed for both comfort and fashion. Most of the items there are usually $44 and up. I got mine from Hautelook.com and it was only for $17, original price $48.

Blazer from Stella and Jaime. Most of their items are $200 and up. I was able to get it from Hautelook for I think $35. The designer pays a lot of attention to the woman's form and focuses on details which I like a lot about this brand.

The lace detailing here is what grabbed my attention.

Now, we can start spicing it up by adding a leopard print scarf from Forever 21 $7.80. I want this scarf to be the main focus.
And I added a white pair of Frankie B jeans. Great for a summer night casual look. Jean: $49 at Hautelook.com, original price $165.

I decided for the shoes I want them to match the scarf since that will be the centerpiece. Shoes are from shoedazzle.com and I got them for $20 (It was buy two for the price of one). They are so comfortable. I love the cute detailing that they have near the toes. Somehow, they remind me of the 70's.... it has a retro look to them.

I don't like my outfit to match too much, so I put on my turquoise ring to give me that pop of color.

Say bye to those boring gray solid colors and hello to a new outfit.

In my future OOTD, I will be showing you how big statement jewelries can also change the look of an outfit.

Enjoy your evening!
